git procedures

Maintainer/Developer

• The software developer (e.g., KK for NOX, Rob for FlowVisor?,) will maintain the public repo
• Maintain a publicly accessible branch (gitosis, gitweb or both)
• The master branch is the bleeding edge of the latest version of the software
• Any other developmental activity or deprecated versions will be a different branch

Version tagger(s)

• Tag the working (stable) revision of each software
• Publish the firmware version considered stable each month
• No other development or bug fixes or edits to the branch

User

• User will download one of the following:
  • Tagged stable release, or
  • Latest software with bug fixes and feature enhancements (termed “Bleeding edge”)
