Before coming to Stanford, I spent nearly ten years in industry working on
computer security issues. My work primarily consisted of network penetration
studies and development of intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS). I have
worked at three successful startups, including one that I co-founded. Lately,
most of my research work has been centered around
Ethane, a security architecture for
enterprise networks. The
Open vSwitch, and
NOX projects are
rooted in some of the research from Ethane. If you are interested in more
